Scenic FlightsCape Krusenstern, Noatak National Preserve, Squirrel River, Kobuk Valley - We depart from Kotzebue and fly northwest over summer fishing camps and into Cape Krusenstern National Monument. Sights include archeological sites (beach ridges and house pits), coastal lagoons, muskox and waterfowl. Then we head north into the Noatak valley over the village of Noatak and into the western end of the Brooks Range where brown bears and moose are often spotted. We return to Kotzebue via the headwaters of the Squirrel River and over the native village of Kiana at the base of the Kiana Hills. Approximate flight time 1.5 hours. Kobuk Valley National Park - Sand Dunes: Flight time 2 hours. Western Arctic Caribou Herd - From June 5 through July 5th the herd can be found on their calving grounds on the north slope or in large post calving aggregations moving through the DeLong Mountains. It’s truly a spectacular sight and a once in a lifetime opportunity. National Park Overfights with landings if desired - Kobuk Valley National Park, Gates of the Arctic National Park, Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Noatak National Preserve, Bering Land Bridge National Preserve are located with flying distance from Kotzebue. We often accommodate people who would like to "set foot" in each park unit.
